Our Activites
In addition to our general program which includes parade and courses on a variety of topics, the 699 Jasper Place Air Cadet Squadron offers a suite of optional training activities for cadets who which to extend and further enrich their learning experience.

Ground School
The Ground School program is provided to offer academic training to air cadets who wish to apply for the Glider Pilot Training Course (GPTC) or the Power Pilot Training Course (PPTC). Cadets applying in the current year for GPTC and PPTC must also attend the nationally delivered online ground school.
Delivery Method: Online. Saturdays.
Marksmanship
The Cadet Marksmanship program is a challenging and competitive sports program. It develops skills through superior training and competition. The squadron team regularly completes at provincial competitions.
Delivery Method: In-Person. Mondays, 1830hrs - 2100hrs.


Band
Cadets in the band not only receive weekly instruction but also participate in annual band clinics. The band is a military-style band and performs at all parade nights.
Delivery Method: In-Person. Mondays, 1900hrs - 2030hrs.
Biathlon (Stood Down)
Biathlon combines cross-country skiing with target shooting. This is a sport of endurance and accuracy. The Squadron team has tryout shortly after the start of the cadet year and trains by skiing, running, roller skiing, and shooting.
Delivery Method: Stood Down.


Effective Speaking
The Effective Speaking program is an Air Cadet League of Canada sponsored activity and is in addition to the cadet training program. It helps build self-confidence and an understanding of how to effectively express oneself.
Delivery Method: In-Person. Mondays, 1900hrs - 2100hrs.
Flag Party
The Flag Party is responsible for handling flags and rifles during ceremonial events. Members of the Flag Party are expected to regularly attend practice nights on Monday to maintain a high level of drill, dress and deportment.
Delivery Method: In-Person. Mondays, 1900hrs - 2030hrs.
